Ingredients:
• Digestive Biscuits: 200g (crushed into fine crumbs)
• Shaved Coconut: 100g (plus extra for garnishing)
• Cocoa Powder: 2 tablespoons
• Gusto’s Chocolate Syrup: 1/2 cup (adjust according to sweetness preference)
• Condensed Milk: 1/4 cup (optional, for added sweetness and binding)
• Cardamom Powder: 1/2 teaspoon (optional, for a hint of spice)
• Ghee: 2 tablespoons
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Biscuit Base:
• Crush the digestive biscuits into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a ziplock bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.
• In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed biscuits, shaved coconut, and cocoa powder.
2. Mix the Ingredients:
• Add Gusto’s Chocolate Syrup to the dry mixture. Mix well until the crumbs are evenly coated and the mixture holds together when pressed.
• If the mixture feels too dry, add a little more syrup or a tablespoon of condensed milk for better binding.
3. Flavoring (Optional):
• Add cardamom powder for an aromatic touch. This is optional but adds a nice depth of flavor to the modaks.
4. Shaping the Modaks:
• Grease your hands with a little ghee and take a small portion of the mixture. Press it into a modak mold or shape it manually into the traditional modak shape.
• Repeat this process until all the mixture is used up.
5. Garnishing:
• Roll the modaks in shaved coconut for an added layer of texture and a beautiful appearance.
6. Chilling:
• Place the modaks in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to set.
7. Serving:
• Serve the modaks chilled or at room temperature. Drizzle with extra Gusto’s Chocolate Syrup before serving, if desired.
Enjoy your Gusto’s Chocolate Coconut Modaks!
